fTOE accreditation is a structured approach to formally demonstrate a practitioner’s competence in performing focused transoesophageal echocardiography for critical care and anaesthesia. Its purpose is to support safe, accurate assessment when life-threatening circulatory instability persists despite corrective therapy, or when focused transthoracic ultrasound (FUSIC®) is unable or unlikely to answer the clinical question.
